 Dutch gymnast Sanne Wevers was born in 1991. She became age-eligible for senior international competitions in 2007.

However, she only shot to major fame when she became the first female Dutch gymnast to win an individual Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Wevers whose last competition was the Tokyo Olympic Games, recently announced her return to the sport with the aim of making the Dutch team at the upcoming European championships.

Here are Sanne's medal winning routines at the top major international competitions.

2015 Montpellier European championships, bronze on the uneven bars behind Russia's Daria Spiridonova (gold) and British Becky Downie (silver).



2015 Glasgow World championships, silver on the balance beam behind US Simone Biles (gold) and ahead of German Pauline Schäfer (bronze).


2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic games, gold on balance beam ahead of US gymnasts Laurie Hernandez (silver) and Simone Biles (bronze).



2018 Glasgow European championships, gold on balance beam ahead of Belgian Nina Derwael (silver) and French Marine Boyer (bronze).



2021 Basel European championships, silver on balance beam behind French Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos (gold)mand ahead of Ukrainian Anastasiia Bachynska (bronze).
