In 2010, Jo Hyun-joo became the first female gymnast from South Korea to qualify to an event final at a World championships.
Jo qualified to the vault final in sixth place. She competed a round-off, flic-flac with ½ turn (180°) on – salto forward stretched with½ twist off, also known as Lopez, for her first vault, and a double twisting Yurchenko for her second vault which are worth a 4.8 and 5.0 in difficulty score in accordance to the 2022-2024 code of points.
She finished in six place.
