Vanessa Ferrari ended her beam routine with a beautifully solid stuck double back pike during the all around competition of the 2007 European championships.

Ferrari won the gold medal at the competition making her the first female Italian gymnast to win a European all around medal and the first Italian male or female gymnast to win a European all around gold since Franco Menichelli in 1965.

The previous year, she became the first Italian male or female gymnast to win an all around gold medal at a World championship.

The then 16 year old gymnast added another gold to her collection as she won the European title on the floor exercise a few days later.

The routine included the difficult F rated full twisting back tuck in combination, worth 0.2 connection bonus.

She scored a 15.375.

The second and third places went to Sandra Izbasa of Romania and Alina Kozich of Ukraine respectively.
