Melnikova, who turned senior in 2016, never had an element named after her.
In order for an element to be added to the code of points and be named after the gymnast, it must be successfully competed at an FIG competition or the Olympic/Youth Olympic Games.
Since Russia is banned from international competitions over the war in Ukraine, it is unclear if Melnikova will ever get the chance to have the triple L turn named after her.
