Dutch gymnast Sanne Wevers had a very unfortunate routine on the uneven bars during the qualifications at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Wevers' routine suffered from a fall and empty swings.

She mounted the bars and performed a Maloney (D) bars transition to Hindroff (E), but fell.

Since gymnasts do not receive any connection or series bonus, if they fell, Wevers repeated the routine from the beginning.

She performed a Maloney (D) to Hindroff (E), worth 0.2 connection bonus, then to pak salto (D), worth 0.1 connection bonus.

She committed several empty swings which is 0.5 deduction each. An empty swing is a swing not needed in order to perform the next element.

Dismounts and some elements like the Mo Salto are exempted from the empty swing deduction.

Wevers received a score of 11.733, finishing in 69th place.

The 31 year old gymnast is the bronze medalist on the uneven bars at the 2018 European championships.
