German gymnast Sarah Voss has ruled herself out of contention to make her country's team at the upcoming World championships due to injury.
Voss, who was part of the European bronze medal winning German team this summer, is suffering from a tear in her calf muscle.
"No worlds for me 💔. Unfortunately time was my biggest enemy towards my comeback for world trials and worlds this year. My injury which turned out to be a torn muscle bundle is luckily healing but not as fast as I want it to be," the 22 year old gymnast wrote on Instagram.
"I am very lucky to have an awesome team, coaches, physios and doctors as well as my family and friends besides me to help me focus on next year and make me even stronger."
Voss represented her country at the 2020 Olympic Games, and 2018 and 2019 World championships.
The upcoming World championships will be held in Liverpool, United Kingdom from October 26 - November 6.
