Angelina Melnikova will be making her 2022 competition debut at the Russian cup, which be held between July 4 and 10 in Kaluga.
The Russian gymnast recently returned to full training after taking a short break. Her last competition was the Swiss Cup last December.
The reigning World all around champion has previously said that the first international competition she plans to take part in is the 2022 World championships, which will be held in October.
But that might not be possible as the International Gymnastics Federation banned Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials, including judges from taking part in FIG competitions or FIG-sanctioned competitions from March 7th until further notice due to Russia's aggression on Ukraine.
