US gymnast Jade Carey, who made her NCAA debut last January, announced that she will be pursuing elite gymnastics.

"NCAA gymnastics is and continues to be an incredible experience. I’m looking forward to competing and representing Oregon State at nationals next week. I wouldn’t be here in this moment without my beaver family. Their endless love and support pushes and inspires me to be a better version of myself," the 21 year old gymnast wrote in an Instagram post.

"I am excited to announce that I will be pursuing elite gymnastics while remaining dedicated to my GymBeav family," she continued.

"I felt it was important for this announcement to come from me as I just accepted my invitation to national team camp. But for now, I’ll see you in Fort Worth."

As an elite gymnast, Carey last competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games where she won a gold medal on floor exercise.

She is the 2017 and 2019 World vault silver medalist, 2017 World floor silver medalist, and 2019 World gold medalist with her team.

Before the Olympics, the American gymnast said that she is aiming at debuting her triple twisting double back layout on floor exercise there.

However, she did not compete the difficult element.

Carey would need to successfully compete the skill at an Official FIG Competitions. The element is expected to receive a K rating.
