Tokyo Olympic champion Angelina Melnikova is training a new floor routine.

The Russian gymnast shared a glimpse of her new floor routine with her fans on Telegram.

Melnikova is an Olympic bronze medalist, two time World medalist, and a European champion on floor exercise.

She is set to resume full training in June after taking a break from the sport due to physical and moral fatigue.

The 21 year old gymnast previously announced that the first competition she plans to take part in is the 2022 World championships, which will be held in October.

However, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine last month, the International Gymnastics Federation banned Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials, including judges from taking part in FIG competitions or FIG-sanctioned competitions until further notice.

The Russian athlete hopes that the situation will get better by then.

Melnikova last competed at the Swiss Cup, where she won gold partnering with Nikita Nagornyy.

At last year's World championships, Melnikova became the first non US gymnast to win a World all around gold medal since her former teammate Aliya Mustafina in 2010.
