Simone Biles Says Mental Injuries Are Her Worst Sports Injuries Ever

Last year, Simone Biles went into the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as one of the most dominant forces in the world of sports.

But losing herself mid air while performing on vault during the first rotation of the team final competition led her to exit the competition.

She spent the rest of the competition cheering on her teammates from the sideline.

It was later announced that the American gymnast was struggling from a mental block where she "seriously cannot comprehend how to twist".

Biles, who qualified to every single final in Tokyo, withdrew from all individual finals but the balance beam, where she avoided performing any twisting elements.

She ended up winning bronze besides the team silver.

Since then, her career has been put on hold. Two months after the Olympics, she admitted that she is "still scared to do gymnastics."

In a Q&A session on Instagram, Biles stated that mental injuries were the worst in her entire career.

"Mental injuries because no one understands them, 1) unless they're going through a similar situation 2)bc they can't see it & it's not *physical*," the 25 year old gymnast wrote when asked about her worst injury.

"Physical injuries... broken rib, shattered toes, torn labrum blah blah. I have super high pain tolerance though," she continues.

The four time Rio Olympic champion, who got engaged this year to NFL player Jonathan Owens, is currently busy planning the wedding of her dreams.
