Russian born Azerbaijani
Marinna Nekrasova took to Instagram to announce her retirement.

The 26 year old athlete posted according to Google Translate:

The World Cup will start soon in Baku, my favorite and incredibly emotional start of all those that I have gone through in my career. Since, he was always opening, New Year, new season. A good association with Novruz Bayram, since, according to custom, the start fell on one of the Tuesdays approaching the holiday, where we jumped over the fire and made wishes for the next year🌺🔥. Unfortunately, I miss this start like all the previous ones this year, and in the future🙏. Doctors have recommended, to suspend, sports activities. 🤝 Maybe at 35 something will change and I will come back😀 I want to thank my family, everyone who was with me, the coaches who invested their experience and great work, the Doctors, the large Milli Gymnastic Arena team and all the leadership of the AGF, the Minister of Youth and sport Farid Mallim, and most importantly President of the Federation Mehriban Khanim and President Ilham Aliyev for the opportunity to be a part of all events for 9 years. I thank all the athletes who competed and motivated to win, the judges who were fair and prudent, and everyone I met along the way. I am proud that I raised the flag of Azerbaijan on the world stage and helped a small generation strive for high results. In the upcoming championship, I wish you all good luck and luck, may the strongest win! ❤️

In 2013, Nekrasova was part of the rebuilding of the Azerbaijani national gymnastics team in preparation for the 2015 European Games joining compatriots Anna Pavlova, Yulia Inshina, and Maria Smirnova.

At the European Games, the team finished thirteenth in the team final competition. Individually, she qualified for the all-around final and finished fifteenth.

By competing at the 2020 Olympic Games, she became the first female artistic gymnast to represent Azerbaijan at the Olympic Games.
