For the first time, Romanian Gymnastics Federation is accepting international and national donations to support Romanian gymnastics.

Donations can be made on their website.

Romanian gymnastics, that once dominated the sport, has been struggling in recent years. They have failed to qualify a full team at the last two Olympic Games.

The last time the country won medals in women's gymnastics at an Olympic Games was in 2012. They won bronze in the team final competition, gold on vault and silver on floor exercise.

Larisa Iordache is the last Romanian gymnast to win a medal at a World championship, which was bronze in the all around in 2015.

Romania was represented by Larisa Iordache and Maria Holbura as individual gymnasts at the 2020 Olympic Games.

Iordache qualified to the balance beam final in fourth place but had to later withdraw due to injury.

2000 Olympic gymnast champion Andreea Raducan was elected the president of the Romanian Gymnastics Federation in 2017 but stepped down two years later after the Romanian team failed to qualify to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Carmencita Constantin is now the president of the RGF.
