 Five new elements were added to the code of points in 2021.

Uneven bars

Gymnast: Ana Filipa Martins

Country: Portugal

Element: Clear hip circle on HB with counter straddle over HB with ½ turn (180°) to hang in mixed L-grip

Rating: F



Gymnast: Nina Derwael

Country: Belgium

Element: Pike sole circle bwd with counter stretched reverse hecht in layout position over HB with ½ turn (180°) to hang in mixed L-grip 

Rating: H



Balance Beam

Gymnast: Júlia das Neves Botega Soares

Country: Brazil 

Element: Mount: From rear stand (back towards beam), flic flac with ½ turn (180°) to candle position, ending in front support (grasping under the beam with both hands).

Rating: D



Floor Exercise 

Gymnast: Lorrane dos Santos Oliveira

Country: Brazil 

Element: Arabian double salto piked with ½ (180°) twist

 Mali  Neurauter of Norway submitted a free (aerial) cartwheel with ½ twist (180°) on the balance beam. It was only added to CoP without her name on it as the dismount received a B rating.

In order for a new element to be named after a gymnast, It has  to be of C value or higher.



As per the 2022-2024 CoP, in order for a new element/vault to be named after a gymnast it must be:

  • Performed internationally for the first time at an official FIG Group 1, 2 or 3 competition (with or without an official FIG TD present).
  • C value or higher and performed for DV.
  • DV and name will only be confirmed following a TC analysis of the performance.
  • If more than one gymnast at the same competition performs the same new element, the element will be named after all gymnasts.
