Wieber turned senior in 2011. At that year's World Championships, she won the all-around title as well as contributed to her team's gold medal win. In the event's final, she won bronze on the balance beam and finished fourth and sixth on the uneven bars and floor exercise respectively.

Due to two per country rule, the American gymnast did not advance to the Lonon Olympics' all-around final as she finished fourth behind teammates Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas. She had a seventh-place finish on the floor exercise during the event's final.

Wieber's last competition was the London Olympics. She only announced her retirement in 2015.
