Olympic champion Angelina Melnikova qualified for all five individual finals at the 2021 World Championships, which are being held in Kitakyushu, Japan.

Melnikova, who is representing the Russian Gymnastics Federation in Kitakyushu, is the first Russian gymnast to qualify for all five individual finals at a World championship since Aliya Mustafina in 2010.

US Simone Biles qualified to all World finals in 2018. Biles is the last and tenth female gymnast from any country to have won a World Championship medal on every event. Aliya Mustafina achieved this feat in 2013.

The Russian gymnast qualified in first place in the all-around, in fourth place on vault and uneven bars, and second on balance beam and floor exercise.

Melnikova, who has four World Championships medals in her under her belt, has never been a World champion before.

The women's all-around final will take place on Thursday, while the apparatus finals will be on Saturday and Sunday.
