US Leanne Wong finished in first place on all four events today during the qualification of the 2021 World championships which are being held in Kitakyushu, Japan.

Wong had an all-around score of 55.749 points, just 0.049 of a point ahead of her teammate Kyla Dicello who finished second.

The 18-year-old gymnast finished in second place behind Olympic floor bronze medalist Mai Murakami of Japan on floor exercise, and third on balance beam behind Luo Rui of China and Pauline Schaefer-Betz of Germany.

While there are still more gymnasts competing tomorrow at the qualifications, Wong's high placement in the all-around, on floor exercise, and on balance beam punches her ticket to all three finals.

Wong, who was an alternate for the US Olympic women's gymnastics team in Tokyo, had a disppointing Olympic Games when she was forced into quarantine after a teammate - Kara Eaker - tested positive for COVID-19.

This is Wong's and Kayla Dicello's first World Championships.

The all around final will be held on Thursday.
