US gymnast Karis German, who was born in 2004, posted a video of herself training a whip directly connected to a full-twisting double layout for her floor exercise routine.
The tumbling pass has never been competed before. It would be worth 0.2 in bonus. The whip is rated an A and the full twisting double layout is rated an H.
Gymnasts usually compete indirect connections when the main element is higher than a D rating, such as two whips indirectly connected to a full in pike.
Russian gymnast Anastasia Dmitrieva attempted to directly connect a whip (A) to a double layout (F) on floor in 2016.
German competed at the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, where she finished in sixth place on floor exercise.
There, she performed a double twisting double back tuck and a full twisting double layout, both rated an H, as her first and second pass respectively.
German has also trained a full in tuck on balance beam, which is the second most difficult beam dismount after the double double.
