Rebeca Andrade, who was the heavy favorite to win the all around title at the 2021 World championships, won't be competing on all four events.

The Brasilian gymnast will compete only on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam.

The 22 year old gymnast cited "saving herself for the 2024 Paris Olympics" as the reason behind such a decision.

She explained that it is not healthy for her to compete on floor exercise right now especially after the heavy preparations for the Olympics.

"To get here and do the floor exercise routine I was competing before (in the Olympics) was very difficult, it would demand a lot from my body," Andrade said.

"I know you all wanted me to do the “Baile de Favela” she continued. "I wanted to too, but I need to be smart right now and know this isn't the time. So don't be sad, I'll come back with my series, I'll go back to competing on floor."

At 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Andrade became the first female Brasilian gymnast to win an Olympic medal.  She won silver in the all around and gold on vault.

The 2021 World championships will be held between October 18-24.
