Today, USA Gymnastics released a statement announcing that Simone Biles will not be competing at tomorrow's Olympic all around final, where she will be the defending champion.

"After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health," the statement reads.

"Simone will continue to be evaluated daily to determine whether or not to participate next week's individual event finals."

"We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being. Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many."

Teammate Jade Carey, who had the third highest all around score among the US gymnasts, will participate in her place in the all around final.

Only two gymnasts per country are allowed to compete in a single individual final.

Brazil's Rebecca Andrade qualified to the all around final in second place, while Biles' teammate Sunisa Lee qualified in third place.

Biles withdrew from the team final competition yesterday after lost her way midair while vaulting. She had planned to do a Yurchenko two and a half, instead she did a Yurchenko one and a half.

Biles qualified to all individual events finals.
