For the second time in a row, Tisha Volleman failed to make the Olympic team.

The Dutch gymnast took to Instagram to express her devastation over not making her country's Olympic team.

"After some time of gathering my thoughts, no other word can describe my feeling better than; empty," wrote Volleman.

"For the second time, being at the last stage of the Olympic selection process, I did not make it to the Olympic Games. I’m sad for not making it but I’m devastated that I haven't been able to reach and show my true potential! Disappointed for the way I had to fight. Disappointed for all that I had to overcome this year."

"This year was by far the hardest gymnastics year of my life. A hectic year where I had to live away from home half of the time, where I did not have my coach to train with, where I felt alone many times, got mentally broken, had to rebuild again, just to face yet another challenge and couldn’t do the thing I love the most; to compete."

"Yet I’m thankfull for my coach to get me back on track. To help me focus on the gymnastics part and enjoy that process. And also thankful for the people who supported me this year and especially my brother for always being there for me."

Nevertheless, the 21 year old gymnast won't let her devastation hold her back as she plans to continue competing and try for Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

The Dutch gymnast ended her Instagram post with wishing the best for her teammates in Tokyo.

Volleman is best known for helping the Netherlands qualify a full team to the Olympics for the first time since 1976, at the 2015 World championships, and for competing the G rated Arabian mount on balance beam.
