German gymnast Lukas Dauser is now recovering from a knee injury that required surgery.

"Four weeks have passed since my surgery. I can now begin to put some pressure on my knee again" wrote Dauser on Instagram.

Lukas injured his ACL while dismounting the rings during the event finals at the nationals which took place last month.

The 2017 World championships, which will be  held next October in Canada, is highly unlikely for the 23 year old gymnast.

Lukas is the winner of the silver medal on parallel bars at the last European championships. He was one of the favorites to win a medal on the event at the upcoming World championships.

Dauser participated at the Rio Olympic Games where he finished in 7th place with his team.
