Mo salto is the most difficult and one of the most rarely done skills on uneven bars. The skill is basically 'swing bwd with salto fwd tucked over HB to hang on HB'.

It was first performed by China's Mo Huilan in 1994. The release was named after her.

Mo Huilan is one of the most popular Chinese gymnasts. She was known for performing routines with high difficulty and technique. However, she lacked consistency.

She is the originator of the super difficult release having debuted it at the 1994 World championships. Mo is an Olympic vault silver medalist (1996 Atlanta Olympics) and a World champion on balance beam. She is also a World silver medalist on uneven bars.

Meng Fei was a Chinese gymnast who competed in the mid to late 90s era. Her highest achievement was winning a silver medal on uneven bars at 1997 World championships. Fei was part of the 1995 World silver medal winning team and 1997 World bronze medal winning team. She did not make the 1995 Olympic team, She retired in 1999.

Bi Wenjing, a Chinese gymnast who is best known for winning the silver medal on uneven bars at 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Check out our interview with her here.

China's Zhang Yufei was a decent gymnast whose career was held back due to multiple injuries. Yufei's biggest competition was the 2005 World championships. There, she qualified in 11th place for the all around and in 7th place on floor exercise but did not compete in the final (most likely due to injuries).

We could not find any videos of Zhang competing the skill. However here is a photo taken of her while performing it.

Yao Jinnan is the last gymnast to compete the salto and that was in 2013. Jinnan turned senior in 2011 where she became the second female Chinese gymnast to win a World all around medal. She is the 2014 World bars champion and was part of the 2012 London Olympic team.

Zhou Duan of China competed a very different version of the Mo salto, a forward swing releasing the bar doing a half turn then salto forward tuck over the bar to hang on it, which is not in the CoP.
