Irina Alexeeva competes on bars at the Massilia Cup 2016.
The 2016 Elite Gym Massilia took place between 11 and 13 November in
Marseille, France.
Irina Alexeeva of WOGA, Texas,
born in 2002, dominated the competition, with a total all around score of
57.100. Alexeeva shined especially on bars and beam, showing long lines and intricate
combinations. Her floor routine was also very good: she displayed a double layout
and a 2/5 twist into full twisting front. She completed her performance with a
clean full twisting Yurchenko on vault. Watch here her all around routines.
Alexeeva trains at WOGA in Texas (USA), but she is not an American
citizen yet. That is why she could not take place at the 2016 P&G
Championships despite winning the qualifying 2016 Secret US Classics, and why
her competition programme is different from that of the rest of the US
gymnasts.
Second was Alison Lepin of France, born in 2000, with a total score of 53.167, who perfomed a beautiful routine on the uneven
bars, which was awarded a 14.833, the top score of the day tied with Alexeeva's. Watch here her all around performances.
