Viktoria Komova's back injury, which forced her to withdraw from the Russian championships, won't affect her chances of making the European and Olympic teams.

Last month, the Russian gymnast went to the hospital complaining of back pain and was advised to skip nationals. She is now undergoing treatment for her spin and has already started light training.

It seems that the back pain is a stress reaction caused by overload training.

Komova suffered from injuries and illness after the London Olympics. Her comeback debut at a major international competition was at 2015 Baku Games. Her last competition was the last World championships where she earned her second gold medal on uneven bars.

The 21 year old gymnast is two time Olympic silver medalist.
