Successful Romanian coaches Octavian Bellu and Maria Bitang have announced via Digi24 that they will retire after the Rio Test Event which will be held between April 16th and 19th.

The Test Event will be Romania's final chance to qualify for the upcoming Olympic Games. The pair retired in April 2014 and made a comeback after the team failed to earn a ticket to the games at the last World championships.

Romania was defeated by Belgium, which is a favorite to qualify a full team to the Olympics, in a friendly meet earlier this month.

The top four teams at the Test Event will go to Rio. Along with Romania, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Brasil, France, Switzerland and South Korea will fight for a spot.

Fans believe that Bellu and Bitang are not actually retiring but rather leaving a sinking ship.
