Larisa Iordache finished the Romanian nationals with 5 gold medals, in team, AA, beam, floor and UB finals. She proved once again to be the most valuable Romanian gymnast of her generation and a strong contestant for Glasgow podiums.

In her most recent interview for TVR, right after the event finals, she talked about her performance and Glasgow.

“I have improved on all four events, but there is room for improvement and I hope to keep improving for Worlds. It has been a long time since I last competed but now I am recovered and I hope to improve. Glasgow World Championship is very important because it can give us the tickets to Rio and we hope to make a good team and of course be healthy. The competition  was very good, and the atmosphere was nice."

"I would like to thank the ones who came to the gym to watch us. It was a very good competition for us. I missed competing so much and I am happy for my successful improvement”

Furthermore, Larisa also stated that she’s currently working on upgrades for Worlds in order to become more competitive.

“I performed the tsuhakara in my floor routine for the first time in eight months, just to be more confident in Glasgow. It will help me a lot there. On beam I will compete safe this year, maybe I will upgrade my D score for Worlds and I hope I can be more competitive.”
