The Russian team leader Aliya Mustafina is very satisfied with her personal and team results after the first day of competition.

"Everything was good, and even better than I expected," Mustafina said. "In general, the other girls showed good performances and I am satisfied with the results of my team."

The first day of the competition serves as the first part of the qualification and team final where gymnasts compete on vault and uneven bars, while tomorrow they are set to compete on the other two apparatus.

Mustafina who is an Olympic uneven bars champion, scored a 15.200 on bars securing a spot at the event's final, while her teammate Viktoria Komova, who came second to her, won't be seen in the final due to one per country rule.

The 2011 World bars champion had few mistakes on the event, she bent her knees and hit her feet on the low bar on her transition.
