A triple back tuck is the most difficult and one of the rarest uneven bars dismounts. It is also unusual on the high bar in men’s gymnastics.

Skill: triple back tuck
Rating: G (0.7)
Named After: Brenda Magana
Event: Uneven Bars
Debut: 2002 World championships

Magana’s Bio
Brenda Magana is a retired Mexican gymnast who was born on July 27, 1977.  Her first major international competition was at the 1991 World championships where she placed 22nd with her team.
Magana’s career highlight was at the 2002 World championships where she became the second Mexican woman to qualify to a World final and had the triple back tuck bars dismount named after her. The then competitive gymnast qualified to floor final, her best event, and finished last.
In 2003, she moved to Texas and trained in WOGA in order to be well prepared for the that year’s World championships and qualify to the Olympic games.
Magana whose last competition was the Athens Olympics, did not compete at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 despite qualifying due to the Federation’s decision not to send the gymnast while she did not qualify to the Sydney Olympics.

But was Magana the first ever female gymnast to do the skill?
No, Soviet gymnast Svetlana Kozlova competed the skill 12 years before Magana.
