Japanese gymnast Mai Murakami has surprisingly led the all around during the qualification in Montreal with only one one-thousandth of a point ahead of US Ragan Smith.

On floor exercise, Smith qualified in first place while Murakami qualified in second one.

Murakami has also qualified on balance beam in last place.

With Ioana Crisan finishing in 27th place in the all around, Catalina Ponor failing to qualify to the event finals and Iordache injuring herself, there will be no representation of Romania in the finals.

Italy's Vanessa Ferrari and Lara Mori qualified in seventh and eighth place for floor final respectively. 

Due to falls, Japan's Sae Miyakawa and Russia's Angelina Melnikova failed to qualify to the floor final.

Miyakawa, however, qualified to the vault final in sixth place and Melnikova qualified to the all around final in tenth place.

US Jade Carey will be in floor and vault finals and teammate Ashton Locklear will be in the uneven bars one. 

US Morgan Hurd made it to the all around final in sixth place and balance beam final in second place.

Belgian Nina Derwael is the only reigning European champion to qualify to the event finals. She finished in fourth place on the uneven bars.

Russia's Elena Eremina will be seen in the all around, balance beam and uneven bars finals.

German gymnast Tabea Alt qualified in first place on balance beam while Uzbekistan Oksana Chusovitina qualified in last place on vault.

The all around final will take place on Friday and the event finals Saturday and Sunday.
