Olympic qualification failure is still haunting Romania.

Laura Jurca's father slammed the Romanian federation for blindly trusting legendary coaches Octavian Bellu and Mariana Bitang.

He said in a statement to translated by Aly126 that the gymnasts on the national team are talented and hard working but have been left on the sidelines.

Since moving the team from Deva to Bucharest, they haven't upgraded their difficulty while some of them have downgraded it. He added that the gymnasts are no longer conditioning citing that he is in a better shape than his daughter.

According to him, Laura is no longer fit after leaving Deva. She used to do five to six full routines on each event every day, but now, on the national team, does only one to two routines. She used to come home exhausted after gym but now not anymore.

Jurca believes that major changes must occur in the national team adding that they can achieve good results at the upcoming European championships depending on the new coordinator.

"The situation’s not that tragic" he said.

It is worth mentioning that Laura was not part of the Romanian team which competed at the test event.
