Swedish gymnast Jonna Adlerteg won the gold medal on uneven bars today at Doha cup while being in deep pain.

After finishing her routine and saluting the judges, she walked out of the podium while showing facial expression of pain. She wasn’t able to attend the awards ceremony and her coach accepted her medal on her behalf.

The 20 year old gymnast suffered from an ACL tear during the last European championships. The Doha cup is her first competition since the injury.

We are yet to know what is causing the pain. She will be examined on Monday when she returns home.

At 2013 European championships, Adlerteg took Sweden's first medal in gymnastics at a major senior international competition in over 50 years when she won the silver medal on the uneven bars. She is also one of only two Swedish gymnasts  to qualify for the Olympics during the 21st century.
