Last February, collegiate gymnast Shelby Hilton had a very bad fall while competing with her team in Gainesville, FL against the UF gymnastics team.

Shelby Hilton left the arena on a stretcher Feb. 27. She suffered no injuries from the fall, but doctors diagnosed her with Medulloblastoma, a fast-growing, high-grade tumor which is one of the most common brain tumors in children.

"The nasty fall saved my life. I was able to find out that I have Medulloblastoma" Shelby wrote.

Her story has inspired thousands on social media and beyond. A hashtag called #ShelbyStrong was created on Twitter to support the gymnast.

"I really appreciate the gymnastics world supporting me though out this hard journey in my life. I just ask for the continued prayers so that I am able to over come this battle. God gives us some crazy curves in life, but he knows that I am the kind of girl that will fight it off."

Shelby started a fundraiser on gofundme.com where you can help pay for her medical bills, for her Proton  Radiation Therapy which she is currently having treatment 5 days a week.
