We might be seeing the long-awaited comeback of Russian gymnast Viktoria Komova. According to Itar-tass.com, there is a high possibility that the gymnast will compete at the upcoming Stuttgart cup which will be held from November 28 to November 30.

Last week, the two time Olympic silver medalist participated in Mexico Gala where she performed on floor exercise and balance beam with watered down routines. The head coach Valentina Rodionenko described her performance as successful.

In the last two years, Komova was plagued with injuries and illness which forced her to withdraw from competitions. She had her comeback debut at the last Russian championships which was held in April. If Komova competed at Stuttgart, this will be her first international competition since the Olympics.

On the other hand, fellow gymnasts Aliya Mustafina and Alla Sosnitskaya have received personal invitations to the World cup.

Last Month, Mustafina won three bronze medals at the 45th World gymnastics championships, including a medal with her team, while Alla Sosnitskaya finished 7th in the all around and 4th on vault.

Updates: According to sovsport.ru, Viktoria Komova has decided not to compete at Stuttgart cup. The website reported that the reason why Vika pulled out of the competition was because she doesn’t want to put pressure on herself at the beginning of her comeback. Instead, she will debut it at a small competition in Hungary.
